The ATV research group focussed on designing and manufacturing a really tough all-terrain vehicle.
My contribution Reduced the weight of the ATV by 12 kg. Used generative design and topology optimisation for parts of the wheel assemblies, for weight reduction. Conducted RULA and REBA analysis to ensure driver ergonomics inside the rollcage. Designed a two-stage reduction gearbox and a continuously variable transmission. Carried out plenty of explicit dynamics simulations to ensure driver safety during several types of possible accident. Tried to develop an e-CVT but fell short of time.
